Lucky fans will get behind-the-scenes access to the Hobbit Holes, The Green Dragon Inn, cosy accommodations at The Millhouse, and more.

Overnight accommodations will be provided in The Millhouse, a two-bedroom Hobbit inspired home with a writing nook fit for Bilbo Baggins, and homey decor curated by the trilogies’ Creative Director Brian Massey.

With sweeping views of The Shire™, guests can also enjoy:

• Private access to a personal private Hobbit Hole, set up for relaxing moments of preeecious downtime and afternoon tea.
• An evening banquet in The Green Dragon Inn with a feast featuring beef and ale stew, whole roast chickens, freshly baked breads and plenty of ale, plus second breakfasts and elevenses served daily. Dietary requirements will be catered for.
• A behind-the-scenes private tour of Hobbiton Movie Set to explore the makings of the film trilogies.

Booking opens via the AirBnB website at 10AM NZDT on Dec 14 for three two-night stays on March 2-4, 9-11 and 16-18. Applicants must be over 18 years old, have an Airbnb profile and have a history of positive reviews. We are expecting a high volume of users on the website when booking opens. These stays are sure to book out very quickly so get in fast if you want to book one of these once-in-a-lifetime stays.

No. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for some lucky fans to stay overnight at Hobbiton Movie Set. The Millhouse is being transformed by our talented team of set designers exclusively for these Air BnB stays and will not be a permanent offering here at Hobbiton Movie Set.

We want to continue to offer the best tourism experience we can for our visitors. Permanent accommodation within Hobbiton Movie Set itself may compromise the experience and take away from our core tourism experience.

Accommodation is not currently a part of our offering, and we have no plans to pursue this at Hobbiton Movie Set at this time. There are a number of fantastic Air BnB and farmstays in the Matamata area and surrounding centres that are very popular with our visitors.
