  • dining options before/after your tour

The Shire's Rest Cafe is open with a slightly reduced menu on offer from fresh sandwiches, snacks, sweets and coffee available.

As part of your tour experience, you will receive a complimentary beverage served inside The Green Dragon Inn. There is a food menu available to purchase from The Green Dragon also.

  • Health & Safety precations

Earlier this year, we increased our cleaning and sanitisation practices and have installed permanent hand sanitiser units in all of our buses and vehicles and public areas.

Our team may choose not have physical contact with our visitors while on tour, this includes shaking hands, high fives and any handling of visitor's personal belongings (e.g cameras, phones) during tours.

To protect the health and safety of our staff and customers, Hobbiton staff reserve the right to deny entry to our venues and tour experiences to any persons and groups exhibiting any potential COVID-19 symptoms (including but not exclusive to fever, cough and shortness of breath). If you or someone in your group are experiencing symptoms, please advise our staff immediately via phone or email before arriving onsite.

We will continue to review these practices and take advice from the New Zealand Government and industry.
